Bulova Accutron Golden Shield 218, tuning fork, late 1960s

The Golden Shield is Accutron at its most avant-garde: an asymmetrical shield-shaped case that only makes sense once it is on the wrist. The 218 movement moved the crown round to four o’clock, which is far more practical than setting the earlier 214 through the caseback.
